In response, major miners executed load curtailment strategies, temporarily powering down substantial portions of their fleets to stabilize the grid and participate in high-demand response programs. This strategic move resulted in a noticeable dip in the global Bitcoin hashrate, confirming the significant footprint of these publicly traded companies.
Paradoxically, stocks such as Riot Platforms (RIOT), Marathon Digital (MARA), and CleanSpark (CLSK) saw their valuations increase. This rise is attributed to several factors.
