Tomasz Stanczak to step down as Ethereum Foundation co-executive director, Bastian Aue to take interim role

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has announced a transition in its leadership team as Tomasz Stanczak prepares to step down from his position as co-executive director. Stanczak, who is also the founder of the blockchain engineering firm Nethermind, will be shifting his focus back toward technical development and other strategic projects within the Ethereum ecosystem. During his tenure, Stanczak played a critical role in strengthening the foundation’s operational framework and fostering collaboration between core development teams. To ensure organizational stability, Bastian Aue has been appointed to serve as the interim co-executive director. Aue will work alongside Executive Director Aya Miyaguchi to oversee the foundation’s ongoing initiatives, including research, developer support, and the coordination of major protocol upgrades. The Ethereum Foundation expressed its gratitude for Stanczak’s contributions and noted that his transition reflects a natural evolution as he continues to support Ethereum’s growth from a more technical perspective.
