Ripple expands institutional custody stack with staking and security integrations

Ripple is significantly deepening its commitment to institutional crypto services, announcing major enhancements to its custody stack, primarily built upon the foundation of its Metaco acquisition. This strategic expansion is designed to meet the rigorous demands of banks, financial institutions, and asset managers seeking enterprise-grade solutions for managing digital assets.

The core of the enhancement focuses on two crucial areas: yield generation and enhanced cryptographic security.

First, Ripple has integrated native staking capabilities directly into its custody platform. This allows institutional clients to securely generate passive yield on supported proof-of-stake (PoS) assets without sacrificing the security and control essential for compliance. This integration addresses a key market demand, enabling institutions to maximize the utility of their balance sheet assets while maintaining robust operational standards.

Second, the security framework has been significantly upgraded. The platform now incorporates advanced Multi-Party Computation (MPC) key management solutions alongside robust Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). MPC technology distributes the key generation and signing process across multiple entities, eliminating single points of failure.
