Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) has issued a warning regarding a series of sophisticated cryptocurrency scams that utilize a “new and powerful” exploit kit specifically targeting iPhone users. According to the research, the campaign leverages advanced security vulnerabilities to compromise iOS devices and gain unauthorized access. Once a device is infected, the exploit kit is used to direct victims toward fraudulent cryptocurrency investment platforms or to trick them into installing malicious apps disguised as legitimate digital wallets. These applications are designed to steal private keys and drain digital assets from the victims. Google noted that the technical complexity of the kit suggests it may be the work of a well-resourced threat actor or a commercial spyware vendor. Security experts recommend that all iPhone users ensure their devices are updated to the latest iOS version and remain cautious of suspicious links received via messaging apps or social media.
