Gemini Launches Zcash Credit Card That Pays ZEC Rewards

Crypto exchange giant Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss twins, has officially announced the launch of its crypto rewards credit card, which allows users to earn rewards paid directly in Zcash (ZEC). This initiative marks a significant expansion of Gemini’s financial product offerings, catering specifically to users interested in privacy-focused digital assets.

The Gemini Zcash Credit Card operates on the Mastercard network and is issued in partnership with leading financial institutions. It aims to integrate everyday spending with cryptocurrency accrual seamlessly. Unlike traditional rewards cards that offer points or airline miles, this card provides users with instant ZEC rewards that are deposited directly into their Gemini accounts upon purchase confirmation.

Key features of the new card include no annual fee and a competitive rewards structure. While the exact percentage may vary depending on promotional periods, the standard offering includes up to 3% back on dining, 2% back on groceries, and 1% back on all other purchases—all paid in ZEC.

In a press statement regarding the launch, a Gemini executive highlighted the strategic decision to prioritize Zcash rewards. “Zcash is a foundational asset for those who value privacy and security in their transactions.
