Bitwise Asset Management has fulfilled its commitment to the Bitcoin ecosystem by announcing a $233,000 donation to support open-source Bitcoin development. The funds are derived from the profits of the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), as part of the firm’s pledge to donate 10% of the fund’s earnings to core development initiatives. The contribution was distributed among three prominent non-profit organizations: Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation’s Bitcoin Development Fund. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley emphasized that these donations are intended to support the developers who maintain the foundational protocol that makes Bitcoin investment vehicles possible. This move highlights an increasing trend of institutional players contributing to the long-term sustainability and security of the decentralized technology they utilize.
