Former LAPD officer convicted of $350K crypto theft and kidnapping

According to federal prosecutors, the former officer and his accomplices orchestrated a staged law enforcement raid to abduct the victim from his home. During the ordeal, the victim was held at gunpoint and forced to provide access to his digital asset wallets. The investigation revealed that the group successfully transferred the funds into their own accounts before releasing the victim. Following a multi-day trial, the former officer was found guilty of conspiracy, kidnapping, and armed robbery. He now faces a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.
